SaGa Frontier II - Stone Plate

Now we start to get into the good stuff.  The Stone Plate is a great piece of armor that you can use for the majority of the game and is extremely valuable if you can get it early in the game. You have access to them as early as the "Wil's Departure" scenario within the Ruins of Hahn. Inside the room that holds the Pocket Dragon treasure, the skeleton glyph will spawn a battle with a blue-caped skeleton. You will need to party battle these in order to get the Stone Plate, which can be quite a task that early in the game. I usually wait until the "Anima Faith Fiasco" in order to farm both Stone Plates and/or Dead Stones (More on the latter later). If you do try during Wil's Depature, Delta Petra the Ghosts to try to instant kill them.

The Stone Plate prevents petrification; one of only three items to do this. While hardly useful for the majority of the game, if you pass on defeating the Stone Lord during the Last Megalith, the Egg will use a devastating attack that causes petrification. Stone Plates should be considered if you decide to take your game in that direction.
